Basketball Game Preview: Cheraw Braves vs. Hartsville Red Foxes

Cheraw is 0-6 against Hartsville since December of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Cheraw Braves will head out on the road to square off against the Hartsville Red Foxes at 4:30 p.m. Cheraw will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Cheraw will bounce into Monday's contest after beating West Florence, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Cheraw secured a 35-30 W over West Florence on Saturday.

Cheraw got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cherita Burns out in front who posted eight points along with six steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleah Faulkner, who had 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hartsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 46-15 win over Central. The Red Foxes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 31 points or more this season.

Cheraw has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Hartsville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Cheraw took a serious blow against Hartsville when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 50-18. Thankfully for Cheraw, Jazzy Frierson (who went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time.
