Basketball Recap: Ocean Lakes Sets Scoring Season-High Against First Colonial

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ocean Lakes). They breezed by the First Colonial Patriots to the tune of 72-34 on Friday. With the Dolphins ahead 43-22 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Ocean Lakes was led to victory by Samara Williams and Jasmyn Miller. Williams dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds, while Miller went 11 for 17 en route to 27 points and five steals. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 24 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Walls, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Ocean Lakes' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for First Colonial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocean Lakes will welcome Tallwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First Colonial, they will host Kellam at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
