Softball Game Preview: Lake Cormorant vs. Olive Branch Conquistadors

Lake Cormorant is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Olive Branch a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. Lake Cormorant will be playing at home against the Olive Branch Conquistadors at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Tuesday, Lake Cormorant came up short against Saltillo and fell 5-2.

Chatham Hamberlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

Meanwhile, Olive Branch fell victim to Grenada and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Chargers, falling 10-0.

Olive Branch's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Lake Cormorant, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Lake Cormorant took their victory against Olive Branch in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will Lake Cormorant repeat their success, or does Olive Branch has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
