Game recap: Harrisburg High School Football Team takes down Cumberland Valley

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Harrisburg (Pa.) jumped out to an early lead against Cumberland Valley (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and never looked back on the way to a 34-14 victory on Saturday.

The Cougars scored seven points in the first quarter. Harrisburg scored on a rushing touchdown.

HHS was up 19-7 at the half after taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter.

The Cougars expanded their lead to 20 points entering the fourth quarter. Harrisburg scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.

Tyler Hartzel played well for the Eagles. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.



HHS came into the game allowing 15.8 points per game. Cumberland Valley's 14 points were well below its season average of 34.4 per game.

The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which CV took, 35-6.

Cumberland Valley (6-3) will play a Mid-Penn - Commonwealth game against State College next week, while Harrisburg (7-2) will take on Carlisle also in a Mid-Penn - Commonwealth game.
