Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. Coastal Academy Stingrays

The Mountain Empire Redhawks will challenge the Coastal Academy Stingrays at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Mountain Empire: 18.5, Coastal Academy: 24.8) so any points scored will be well earned.

While Mountain Empire didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Gompers Prep Academy by a score of 26-16 on Thursday.

Mountain Empire relied on the efforts of Kourtlyn Hardison, who posted ten points, and Carli McGhee, who scored nine points. Bibi Caceres was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Coastal Academy slipped by High Tech Mesa 36-35 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stingrays.

Coastal Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Mountain Empire, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
