Basketball Recap: Jaxson Wisniewski's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Salem over Novi

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 59-46 to the Novi Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Rocks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Wildcats are ranked 27th).

Salem lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jaxson Wisniewski, who posted five points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (two). Another player making a difference was Nye Turner, who had seven points.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Novi, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Salem will face off against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Novi, they are taking a road trip to take on Howell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
