Baseball Recap: Miami Beach Comes Up Short

Miami Beach lost against Monsignor Pace back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hi-Tides came up short against the Spartans, falling 10-3. That's two games in a row now that the Hi-Tides have lost by exactly seven runs.

Miami Beach got a good showing from Tomas Useche, who pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Useche has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Miami Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yeiber Vivas, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Miami Beach and nudges their season record down to 10-13. As for Monsignor Pace, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-10 record.

Looking ahead, Miami Beach will be playing at home against Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Stingarees' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Hi-Tides' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Monsignor Pace, they will challenge Westland Hialeah at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.22 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
