Softball Recap: Rosebud-Lott's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Granger, Rosebud-Lott was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Bartlett Bulldogs. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Mekenzie Scheler was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Rosebud-Lott got a massive performance out of Madison Skala, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Skala a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikayla Bravo-Hodges, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Rosebud-Lott's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Bartlett, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, Rosebud-Lott will face off against Thorndale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bartlett, they will welcome Granger at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
