Game recap: Cranston East High School Football Team bests Cranston West

CRANSTON, R.I. - Cranston East (Cranston, R.I.) beat Cranston West (Cranston, R.I.) 42-13 on the strength of a superb game by dual threat quarterback Alex Corvese, who threw two touchdown passes while running for two more.

After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, the Thunderbolts were up 28-13 at the half.

Cranston East grew its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. CE's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by Corvese to Marquem Monroe.

The Thunderbolts entered the contest giving up 22.9 points per game this year.



Cranston East also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 27-6.

The defeat comes as a step back for Cranston West, who notched a 42-28 victory over East Providence in its previous outing. The loss broke Cranston West's two-game winning streak. With the win CE extended its winning streak to three games.
