Football Recap: Barlow Comes Up Short

Barlow lost against Oregon City back in October of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bruins took a blow against the Pioneers, falling 49-3.

Mathius Angel threw for 92 yards on 11 of 24 attempts.

Kaeden Emerson had an outrageously good game for Oregon City as he threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. A healthy portion of that aerial production (112 yards to be exact) went to Cavan Rogers, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Barlow's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Oregon City, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Barlow will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Nelson at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. Barlow will be up against Nelson's rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Oregon City, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 33-7 victory against Skyview on the 26th.
