Basketball Recap: Poughkeepsie Starts Season with Loss at Home

Poughkeepsie unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks an easy 60-39 victory.

The win got Newburgh Free Academy back to even at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poughkeepsie will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Albany at 6:30 p.m. on January 30, 2025. As for Newburgh Free Academy, they will be home for the holidays to greet Middletown at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
