Baseball Recap: Navasota's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Navasota fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Palestine on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 10-6 to the Palestine Wildcats. The Rattlers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Evan Otto put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Owen Otto made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Kyle Taylor was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Navasota's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Palestine, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Navasota will host Caldwell on Friday. As for Palestine, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Palestine Wildcats duke it out with Malakoff Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Their pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Malakoff's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
