Basketball Game Preview: Celina Bulldogs vs. St. Henry Redskins

Celina hasn't had much luck against St. Henry recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Celina Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Henry Redskins at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Celina is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Bath, falling 57-34. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 581st, while the Wildcats are ranked 243rd).

Meanwhile, St. Henry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against Marion Local, falling 74-35. The Redskins were down 57-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Celina will have to keep a close watch on Austin Zimmerman and Jack Huelsman, a pair of players who had a big impact on St. Henry's prior game. Zimmerman posted seven points, while Huelsman scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Carson Harrod, who put up six points.

Celina's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for St. Henry, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Celina might still be hurting after the 80-56 loss they got from St. Henry when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Celina, Evan Bowers (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
