Softball Recap: New Boston Takes a Loss

New Boston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Hooks Hornets, falling 15-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 18-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

New Boston's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-1. As for Hooks, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Looking ahead, New Boston will square off against Liberty-Eylau at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty-Eylau has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.5 runs per game on average), something New Boston will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hooks, they will face off against Redwater at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hooks is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
