            Volleyball Recap: Carmel Greyhounds vs. Monrovia Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            Carmel faced Monrovia in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Greyhounds sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  win over the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Greyhounds have posted  since March 22nd.
 Carmel had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18,  15-10.

Carmel can attribute much of their success to  Griffin Holdcraft, who  had 12  digs and two assists. Holdcraft has been hot for a while, having  posted ten or more  digs the last nine times he's  played.
 Carmel  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with ten  aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  ace total in four consecutive  matchups.
The  win snapped Carmel's losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 8-7-1 record. As for Monrovia, their defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 11-3.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Carmel is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Noblesville  at 7:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Monrovia will  challenge  rival Martinsville  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
