Basketball Recap: Fairview Takes a Loss

If Fairview was riding high fresh off their 60-34 takedown of Elyria last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fairview Warriors took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beachwood Bison on Friday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bison earlier this season, when they won 51-41.

Goldi Aschkenasy was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards for Beachwood. With that strong performance, Aschkenasy is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Readance, who posted nine points along with six boards and five assists.

Fairview dropped their record down to 6-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Beachwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Fairview will square off against Independence at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Beachwood, they will face off against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
