Basketball Recap: Islip Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Islip can now relate to. They lost 71-51 to the Mount Sinai Mustangs on Tuesday. The Buccaneers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it eight in a row.

Dominic Pennzello continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mount Sinai, almost dropping a double-double with 27 points and nine boards. The matchup was Pennzello's 11th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Kolsch, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Islip's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mount Sinai, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Islip does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Sinai, they will take on Bayport-Blue Point at 4:00 p.m. on March 5th. One thing working in Mount Sinai's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
