Softball Game Preview: Northwest Indians vs. Garfield Rams

The Northwest Indians will face off against the Garfield Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northwest lost 13-1 to Tuslaw on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Garfield). They were the clear victors by a 29-15 margin over East on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their one-run performance the game before.

Kendall Zanders was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, three doubles, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyeah Norn, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Garfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Everything went Northwest's way against Garfield in their previous meeting on April 9th, as Northwest made off with a 24-0 victory. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
