Seguin proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 22) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sam Houston Hurricanes, sneaking past 62-60. The win was nothing new for the Matadors as they're now sitting on five straight.

Seguin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Miller, who went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Lane Seidenberger, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points.

The win got Seguin back to even at 13-13. As for Sam Houston, they dropped their record down to 5-18 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seguin will face off against Fox Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Seguin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches. As for Sam Houston, they will square off against Edison at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Edison will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Sam Houston surely won't give up without a fight.
