Soccer Game Preview: King's Academy vs. Florence Christian

King's Academy hasn't had much luck against Florence Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lions will look to defend their home pitch against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. King's Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Florence Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, King's Academy turned things around against Camden Military last Thursday. While the 4-4 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lions who were credited with the win. King's Academy got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Camden Military's two. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for King's Academy considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Florence Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Pee Dee Academy last Thursday. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 2-1.

Florence Christian dropped their record down to 8-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for King's Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6-1.

King's Academy suffered a grim 7-3 defeat to Florence Christian in their previous meeting back in March. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lions were down 5-2.
