It's playoff time, and King's Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves on Tuesday. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 14-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Caroline Duncan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gracyn Needle was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Lyla Diblasi was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

King's Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Oxbridge Academy, they moved to 16-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, King's Academy will face off against John Carroll Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. Oxbridge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
