Cam Johnson Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Corvian Community picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Cam Johnson. Johnson was excellent, rushing for 148 yards and three touchdowns, while also picking up 42 receiving yards. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (103.9). His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Johnson and Corvian Community will host Community School of Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals had to take a loss when they last met the Spartans, but Johnson had little to do with the loss: he rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Corvian Community Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to AJ Jackson Jr.
AJ Jackson Jr. was instrumental in extending Corvian Community's winning streak to seven on Friday. Nobody could stop Jackson Jr. as he rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.
For the year, Jackson Jr. has thrown 9 touchdowns while averaging 107.4 passing yards per game.

Alex Waterfield Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Bishop McGuinness got the W thanks in part to Alex Waterfield playing the best football he has all season. Waterfield threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 58 yards.
Waterfield might have his next game, a road matchup with Mountain Island Charter, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Waterfield saw the Raptors), he threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 124 yards.

Big Game from Gaither As Pine Lake Prep Fell 34-14
Pine Lake Prep had to settle for second on Friday, but Johntay Gaither sure wasn't going down easily. Bishop McGuinness had no answer to Gaither as he rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Gaither didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended a pass.
For the season, Gaither has averaged 31.1 receiving yards per game.

Oliver Morris Rounds Out Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Oliver Morris of Community School of Davidson. Morris picked up 62 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Community School of Davidson is undefeated when Morris posts two or more receiving touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Community School of Davidson, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Morris and Community School of Davidson will take on Corvian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
