Recap: Eastside Ghosts vs. Elizabeth Minutemen
On Thursday, Eastside suffered a tough 27-6 defeat at the hands of Elizabeth. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Elizabeth can attribute much of their success to Jamad Lyles, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Arique Flemming, who threw for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Eastside has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Elizabeth, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.
Eastside will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Kennedy on November 23rd. Kennedy is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Elizabeth will take on Hackensack at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Hackensack is ranked 154th, while Elizabeth is ranked 141st).
