Baseball Game Preview: Johnston City Indians vs. DuQuoin Indians

Johnston City will face off against DuQuoin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Johnston City 3.3, DuQuoin 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Johnston City fell victim to Goreville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blackcats. That makes it the first time this season the Indians have let down their home crowd.

Meanwhile, DuQuoin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Redbirds.

Cy Craft was incredible, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Jayden Anders was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Craft wasn't the only one making solid contact: DuQuoin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

DuQuoin's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Johnston City, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
