Hazleton Area won the last time they faced Wyoming Valley West and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Cougars blew past the Spartans 11-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Isabella Almeida spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. Those hits were her first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Saige Klesh, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Olivia Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Hazleton Area's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Wyoming Valley West, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hazleton Area will venture away from home to face off against Whitehall at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wyoming Valley West, they will take on Dallas at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
