Preview: Ellet Orangemen vs. Firestone Falcons
Ellet is 8-2 against Firestone since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Ellet Orangemen will head out on the road to face off against the Firestone Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Ellet knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Firestone likes a good challenge.
Last Monday, Ellet was fully in charge, breezing past East 61-5 on the road.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellet to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaeda Tavares, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals. Tavares hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Caitlyn Holmes was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Firestone had to settle for a 40-37 loss against Southeast last Wednesday. Firestone has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losses dropped Ellet to 2-2 and East to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Ellet against Firestone when the teams last played back in February as the squad secured a 71-31 win. Does Ellet have another victory up their sleeve, or will Firestone turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
