Basketball Recap: South Vermillion Takes a Loss

South Vermillion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 37th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Greencastle Tiger Cubs and fell 67-24. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 50-22 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Leading Greencastle to victory were Alexandra Dobbs and Bailey Brown. Dobbs went 8 of 17 on her way to 20 points and five assists, while Brown dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikinley Cantonwine, who posted ten points.

South Vermillion's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Greencastle, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9.

South Vermillion wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-5 loss against Parke Heritage on the 23rd. As for Greencastle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-25 defeat against West Vigo on the 23rd.
