Soccer Recap: Collegiate Comes Up Short

Collegiate lost against McPherson back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartans lost 8-0 to the Bullpups. While losing is never fun, Collegiate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 90th, while McPherson are ranked 22nd).

This is the second loss in a row for Collegiate and nudges their season record down to 1-6-2. As for McPherson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2-1.

Looking ahead, Collegiate will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Mulvane. Mulvane will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Collegiate surely won't give up without a fight. As for McPherson, they will head out on the road to square off against Circle on Thursday. McPherson are facing Circle at the right time seeing as Circle are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
