Baseball Recap: Columbia Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It's playoff time, and Columbia had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Fleming Island Golden Eagles by a score of 6-2 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Nolan Slaymaker was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Abraham Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Columbia hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fleming Island struck out 11 times.

Columbia's record is now 16-10. As for Fleming Island, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 16-10.

As of now, neither Columbia nor the Golden Eagles have any future games scheduled.
