Baseball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lincoln's offense. They fell just short of the Cranston West Falcons by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Isaac Cabral spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits.

On the hitting side, Lincoln saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Mellen, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Mellen has snagged this season.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Cranston West, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will challenge Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cranston West, they will be playing at home against Moses Brown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
