Basketball Recap: Robinson Sets Scoring Season-High Against La Salette Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Robinson). They took their match on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 77-46 win over the La Salette Academy Lions. The Maroons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Robinson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ian Gilmore, who to rack up 25 points. Thanks to that strong game, Gilmore now owns an excellent 48.9% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Cruz Dunlap, who on his way to 17 points and six boards.

La Salette Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Benedict Blood and Owen Whitehead. Blood en route to 14 points and six rebounds, while Whitehead posted ten points. The dominant performance gave Blood a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Sick, who scored six points.

Robinson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-23 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for La Salette Academy and nudges their season record down to 17-9.

Robinson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-41 loss against St. Anthony on the 21st. As for La Salette Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 37-33 defeat against St. Mary's Academy on the 21st.
