Basketball Recap: Mission Oak Takes a Loss

Mission Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 73-61 to the Dinuba Emperors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (59), the Hawks still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Mission Oak lost, don't look at Anthony Jackson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 boards. What's more, Jackson also posted a 64% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Malakai Rodriguez was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Even though they lost, Mission Oak was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Dinuba's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah Ochoa led the charge by going 7-for-14 to rack up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Lopez, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds.

Mission Oak's loss dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Dinuba, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.

Mission Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dinuba, they have already played their next contest, a 58-55 defeat against Righetti on the 15th.
