Soccer Game Preview: Wickenburg vs. Bourgade Catholic

The Wickenburg Wranglers will head out to take on the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Wickenburg took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Cicero Prep Academy out 2-1.

Meanwhile, Bourgade Catholic put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let St. Mary's onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Knights are ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory got Wickenburg back to even at 1-1. As for Bourgade Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Wickenburg suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Bourgade Catholic in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Wickenburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
