Hixson took a 27-point loss the last time they faced off against Loudon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats pulled ahead with a 20-19 photo finish over the Redskins on Friday. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 34-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Hixson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Alfonso Rivezzo and Deuantre Baulding Jr. Baulding Jr got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Loudon lost, don't look at Nolan Bassett. Despite the final result, he rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. The Redskins also got a significant boost from Levi Russell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 103 yards.

Hixson's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Loudon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Hixson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 31-14 defeat against Warren County on the 19th. As for Loudon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-21 loss against Stone Memorial on the 19th.
