Softball Recap: Oxford Has No Trouble Against Naugatuck

Oxford won the last time they faced Naugatuck and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Greyhounds with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Oxford and bumps their season record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Naugatuck, they moved to 10-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Oxford will venture away from home to challenge Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 11.9 runs per game this season. As for Naugatuck, they will host Holy Cross at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Greyhounds' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
