Softball Recap: Villa Grove Blue Devils vs. Argenta-Oreana Bombers
Villa Grove lost against Argenta-Oreana back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Villa Grove Blue Devils took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Argenta-Oreana Bombers. Villa Grove has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alison Pangburn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Ella Schweighart, who went 4-for-4 with two RBI.
On Argenta-Oreana's side, Abbey Matthews was incredible, scoring two runs while going 5-for-7. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Wicklund, who went 3-for-6 with three RBI.
Villa Grove's loss dropped their record down to 16-12-1. As for Argenta-Oreana, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road.
