Softball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Winfield has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.62 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 11-5 to the Hartselle Tigers. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Winfield's defeat dropped their record down to 28-6. As for Hartselle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9-1 record this season.

Winfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-3 win against Rogers on the 18th. As for Hartselle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-2 victory against Lincoln County on the 18th.
