Basketball Game Preview: Madison Central Jaguars vs. Germantown Mavericks

Madison Central is 2-8 against Germantown since December of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Madison Central Jaguars will take on the Germantown Mavericks at 7:00 p.m.

Madison Central is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a 55-40 bruising from Clinton.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Germantown). They put the hurt on Murrah with a sharp 69-43 victory on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mavericks have posted since November 30, 2024.

Madison Central better keep an eye on Charlie Gamberine. She was instrumental in Germantown's win, going 7 of 12 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points. Those 29 points gave Gamberine a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Haralson, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Madison Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Germantown, their record now sits at 14-12.

Madison Central lost to Germantown on the road by a decisive 55-38 margin in their previous matchup last Friday. Can Madison Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
