Baseball Recap: Wayne Blue Devils vs. Hamlin Area
Wayne scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Hamlin Area 18-5. The victory was nothing new for Wayne as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Devin Anderson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Anderson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Wayne got a great performance from Gavin Anderson as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
Back at the plate, Jase Dean was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and a double. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Moormeier, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Wayne pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs per game. As for Hamlin Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
