Parma and Melba are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Parma will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Parma made up a huge gap compared to their last game against New Plymouth, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Pilgrims a 16-0 shutout on Monday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by nine runs or more this season.

Kinlea Cole was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Poppy Nichols, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Parma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Plymouth only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Melba played in-conference for the first time on Monday and got just the result they were looking for. They blew past Vision 16-5. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with Vision recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Kali Adams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. That hit marked the first that she allowed this season. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Melba got a massive performance out of Kodi Adams, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Adams continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Analyse Durham was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Melba's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Parma, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Melba's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Parma has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Melba, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Parma's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Parma was able to grind out a solid victory over Melba when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 9-6. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
