Basketball Recap: Douglass Piles Up the Points Against Central

Douglass won the last time they faced Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Douglass Eagles blew past the Central Falcons, posting a 76-14 win.

Douglass' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Naiy'Lah Crutchfield, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points along with eight boards and seven assists. Crutchfield is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaiya Morrison, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Douglass smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

The win got Douglass back to even at 2-2. As for Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Douglass won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Great Mills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central will take on Largo in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
