Basketball Recap: Calumet Christian Skates Past Heritage Christian with Ease

Calumet Christian came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Heritage Christian Defenders for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-30 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Calumet Christian was led to victory by Makenna Landkrohn and Anna Prim. Landkrohn almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds, while Prim almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Prim a new career-high in blocks (seven). Another player making a difference was Courtney Nymeyer, who posted two points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals.

Calumet Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Calumet Christian pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.8 points per game. As for Heritage Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
