Football Recap: Parker Hunter and Jaydon Walen Pace Park Rapids Defense

Park Rapids was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 37-23 to the East Grand Forks Green Wave. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 34-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Park Rapids lost, don't look at Kaden Gartner. Despite the final result, he picked up 55 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Park Rapids didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Parker Hunter and Jaydon Walen. Andy Johanning was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Park Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for East Grand Forks, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Park Rapids didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-23 win against Pelican Rapids on the 19th. As for East Grand Forks, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 28-7 victory against Warroad on the 19th.
