Basketball Recap: Perry Bluejays vs. West Marshall Trojans        
        
		
            
 The Perry Bluejays were the  61-52 winner over the West Marshall Trojans when they last played one another  back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Perry fell  57-49 to the Trojans on Friday.
 Perry lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Zander Mahler, who  scored 14 points along with four  steals. Mahler is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed four or more in the last three games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Geren Kenney, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and nine  rebounds.
 Perry's loss was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 6-12. As for West Marshall, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
 Perry won't have much time to rest: their next  contest is against the Rams at 2:30  p.m.  on February 3rd. Greene County has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19. As for West Marshall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked  in Iowa (Carlisle is ranked 241st, while the Trojans are ranked 238th).
