Basketball Recap: Jamestown Comes Up Short

Jamestown lost against Smithfield back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Jamestown Eagles were outmatched by the Smithfield Packers and fell 68-35. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Packers are ranked 70th).

Jamestown is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5. As for Smithfield, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Jamestown will take on Grafton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grafton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.3 points per game this season. As for Smithfield, they will face off against York at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Smithfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
