Softball Recap: Tolleson's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Tolleson extended their winning streak to ten on Monday, bumping their season record up to 25-5 in the process. They blew past the Mesa Jackrabbits 18-3. Considering the Wolverines have won 20 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lilliana Reyes tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Marina Lara, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rubi Canez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

As for Mesa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

On Mesa's side, Brooklyn Isom was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

As of now, neither Tolleson nor the Jackrabbits have any future games scheduled.
