Baseball Game Preview: Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors vs. Independence 76ers

Yerba Buena is 1-9 against Independence since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Aztec Warriors will head out to square off against the 76ers at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Yerba Buena has four straight wins, Independence has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Yerba Buena barely beat Overfelt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Aztec Warriors blew past the Royals 19-8 on Thursday. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Aztec Warriors this season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Independence's offense. They came up short against Gunderson on Thursday, falling 18-0.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Yerba Buena, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Yerba Buena might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Independence in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Aztec Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
