Maryland School for the Deaf wins going away against Marie Philip

The Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They strolled past Marie Philip with points to spare, taking the game 54-37. The win was all the more spectacular given Maryland School for the Deaf's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 121st in Maryland, while Marie Philip is ranked ninth in Massachusetts).

Marie Philip's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Martin, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Solina Rampino, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Maryland School for the Deaf, bringing their record for this year to 4-3. As for Marie Philip, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.

Maryland School for the Deaf will be home for the holidays to greet Loudoun County HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marie Philip, they will head out on the road to face off against Rhode Island School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
