Basketball Game Preview: Northside Christian Lions vs. Genoa Christian Academy

The Northside Christian Lions will square off against Genoa Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 44-15, which was the final score in Northside Christian's tilt against Madison Christian on Friday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Genoa Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They secured a 41-37 W over Marion H on Tuesday.

Genoa Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Northside Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Leah Kinley, who posted 15 points and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Genoa Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Schuck, who scored seven points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Genoa Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Northside Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Northside Christian suffered a grim 43-21 defeat to Genoa Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northside Christian was down 28-5.
