Basketball Recap: SPIRE Academy Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

SPIRE Academy entered their game against Parkersburg South on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The SPIRE Academy SPIRE took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parkersburg South Patriots. While losing is never fun, the SPIRE can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 275th in Ohio, while the Patriots are ranked 15th in West Virginia).

SPIRE Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10. As for Parkersburg South, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

SPIRE Academy will have a chance to keep the ball rolling against Tournament Opponent at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday following yesterday's win. As for Parkersburg South, they will face off against Parkersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
